Internship & Graduate Therapist Opportunity

We specialize in supporting individuals facing concerns related to mental health, substance use and addictions, relationships, parenting, trauma, and psychosocial challenges. Our approach is holistic, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based therapeutic practices.

As our practice continues to grow, we are expanding our team and welcoming graduates and individuals seeking internship opportunities who are passionate about helping others and committed to developing their clinical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians, develop therapeutic competencies, and gain meaningful experience working with children, youth, and women who have experienced abuse or trauma.

Position Overview

Age To Age Inc. is seeking graduate-level interns or early-career therapists who are interested in gaining clinical experience working with children, adults, and those struggling with mental health and addictions, cognitive and psychological related issues.

Successful candidates will be individuals who are compassionate, motivated to learn, and comfortable working within a strength-based, client-centered, and skills-focused therapeutic framework.

Interns and graduate therapists will work under supervision while developing practical clinical skills and gaining exposure to a range of therapeutic modalities.

Description & Responsibilities

The therapist or intern will:

• Provide counselling sessions
• Utilize a strength-based and skills-based therapeutic approach to support clients
• Apply evidence-informed therapeutic modalities when appropriate, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Thought Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Thought Developmental Practice (TDP)

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • EMDR

  • Integrative / Eclectic Therapy

  • Humanistic Experiential Therapy

  • Interpersonal Therapy

  • Supportive Therapy

  • Psychodynamic approaches

  • Mindfulness and grounding techniques

  • Exposure-based approaches when appropriate

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical session notes and documentation
• Participate in monthly peer consultation and case review meetings
• Submit monthly invoicing and administrative documentation as required
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support client care

All appointment scheduling and administrative coordination will be handled by our office team, allowing therapists to focus primarily on clinical work.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate degree in Social Work, Psychotherapy, Psychology, or a related field

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with OCSWSSW or CRPO or other governing body

Experience

  • 1–3 years of counselling experience preferred

  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and women in a clinical or community setting

  • Knowledge of CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, behavioural therapy, or play therapy is an asset

  • Experience working with LGBTQ2+ individuals is considered an asset

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Comfort providing virtual counselling (teletherapy)

  • Ability to create a supportive and safe therapeutic environment for clients

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC)

  • Availability to commit to at least one day per week to support client sessions

  • Willingness to work within a hybrid model (virtual and occasional in-office sessions)

  • Second language skills are considered an asset
