Transforming Mental Healthcare
The Green Chair Project
The Green Chair Project was created to make supportive, compassionate care more accessible for individuals and families who may be navigating life’s challenges. The name reflects a simple but meaningful idea: a safe place to sit, speak, and be heard without judgment.
Through The Green Chair Project, we provide supportive services for individuals, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of concerns. These may include challenges related to parenting, relationships, mental health, addictions, psychosocial stressors, psychological struggles, and organic or health-related conditions that impact emotional well-being.
Life can present unexpected pressures—family conflict, emotional distress, trauma, or patterns that feel difficult to break. In many cases, people simply need a supportive environment where they can talk openly, gain insight, and develop healthier ways of coping and moving forward. The Green Chair Project aims to offer that space.
Sessions are designed to be practical, supportive, and growth-oriented, helping individuals better understand their experiences while developing tools to improve emotional stability, relationships, and overall well-being.
To make support more accessible, services through The Green Chair Project are offered starting at $80 per session (50 minutes).
Our hope is simple: that anyone who feels overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the next step can find a place to sit, talk, and begin the process of healing and positive change.
A modern approach
The Green Chair Project provides virtual support across Ontario and in select regions of Canada, making compassionate and accessible care available wherever you may be.
Our rates
We have passionate, skilled, and knowledgeable counsellors who work on a sliding scale starting at $80 per hour (50-minute session). Our team brings experience and training in supporting individuals and families in areas such as mental health, substance use and addictions, relationships, parenting, and other life challenges. The fee per therapy session is based on the standard rates for social workers and psychotherapists in Ontario.
Fees are payable at the beginning of each session, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Please note that requests for additional documentation, including reports or letters of confirmation, may involve additional charges.
Because we are committed to providing consistent and reliable care for all clients, we require 48 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
We are a busy agency, and our clients remain our top priority, so these policies help ensure that appointment times remain available and accessible to those who need support.
