Making Care Accessible

The Green Chair Project provides virtual support across Ontario and in select regions of Canada, making compassionate and accessible care available wherever you may be.

Before beginning services, clients will be provided with information about:

  • The nature and goals of counselling or psychotherapy

  • Fees and cancellation policies

  • Confidentiality and its limits

  • Potential risks and benefits of therapy

Clients have the right to ask questions and to withdraw from services at any time

The Green Chair Project

The Green Chair Project was created to increase access to affordable mental health support for individuals and families who may not have insurance coverage.

Services are provided by student therapists and qualifying professionals who are in the process of completing their clinical training.

All services are delivered under the clinical supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) or Registered Social Worker (OCSWSSW), in accordance with professional standards.

Intern therapists are not independent practitioners and work within a supervised clinical framework with a fully licensed Psychotherapist or Social Worker who are regisered and fit the criteria with the CRPO and OCSWSSW. Services may differ in scope from services provided by fully licensed clinicians.

To make support more accessible, services through The Green Chair Project are offered starting at $80 per session (50 minutes).

Our hope is simple: that anyone who feels overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about the next step can find a place to sit, talk, and begin the process of healing and positive change.

A Modern Approach

All services are confidential and provided in accordance with professional and legal standards.

Limits to confidentiality include situations where there is risk of harm to self or others, suspected abuse, or when required by law. These limits will be discussed as part of the informed consent process.

Our rates

Session fees range depending on the clinician and type of service for insured clients.

Reduced-fee services are available through the Green Chair Project ranging from $80.00 depending on the clinician and type of service.

A cancellation fee applies for appointments cancelled or no show with less than 48hours’ notice.

Documentation services (letters, forms, reports) are billed according to what is being requested.
